Obama Junk Is Recession-Proof

By Kevin Spak,  Newser Staff

(Newser) – Say what you want about the economy—“like for example, it blows”—but one business is booming: Crap with Barack Obama on it. From votive candles to toilet paper to “victory plates,” you can find the president-elect’s mug on just about anything these days, writes Sarah Hepola of Salon. She even tried typing “Obama sex toy” into Google. “God bless America: I was not disappointed.”

So yes, there is an Obama dildo, carved in the grinning likeness of the president-elect. “How about that for a stimulus package?” Sure, all these knick-knacks might seem a tad… absurd? Tacky? But they also prove that “the tireless spirit of American entrepreneurialism is churning away.” Besides, Hepola says, “I spent so much of my life disappointed by my country that by god, I’m going to savor this moment. I’m going to buy a goddamn button.”
