(Newser) – Longtime heroin devotee Amy Winehouse became a heroine yesterday when she rescued a British woman, Baywatch-style, on a Caribbean beach, the Sun reports. During a sailing lesson, the 39-year-old tourist was thrown onto rocks near the sunbathing singer, who rushed to help the injured gal out of the water. Winehouse then cleaned gashes on the woman’s back.

“I was bowled over by her kindness,” the victim said. “She went out of her way to help me.”
