Peterson Ex: Engagement Was a 'Stunt'

(Newser) – Drew Peterson’s purported ex-fiancée said today that their marital plan was "more like a stunt,” the Huffington Post reports. Christina Raines confirmed that they dated, but said the engagement was cooked up by Peterson's lawyer, who “had wanted him to be in the media and wanted to propose to someone at a restaurant.”

Raines said Peterson discussed the engagement hoax with her, saying, “If it comes out that I'm engaged to someone, it's not really true.” He assured her “that he never said it was me," she said. Raines broke up with Peterson last week after an ex-boyfriend warned her, "This is not right. He's not a good guy." Raines has moved back in with her ex.

I just want—I got one comment to make. Johnny Cash came out with a song that Kris Kristofferson wrote, but Johnny Cash sang it, and it was called 'Beat The Devil.' And that's what we did. We beat the devil. - Christina Raines

and now she's moved back in. The taxpayers foot the bill to have cops move her out... now who is going to repay us?

Has Petersons attorney gotten a gig on Larry King or Entertainment Tonight yet? What a stupid public relations stunt!

Sounds more like Christina Raines is attempting to gain more news time. I'm quite sure she knew who he was and what he was accused of in the past. Plus, the little stunt she pulled when she moved out proved she is nothing but a media wench
