(Newser) – Tom Daschle withdrew today from consideration for secretary of health and human services over controversial unpaid taxes, the Boston Globe reports. Daschle had retained the support of the Obama administration despite the flub, but quit seeking the post so as not to be a distraction, he said. President Obama regretfully accepted Daschle’s decision, the White House said.

Wrong, he paid the taxes that he owed, but he failed to report the Tax regarding his driver's salary and the Car, thats Tax evasion, and fully prosecutable. Will he be prosecuted, of course not, he's a Democrat.

Public opinion prevails! I had written the White House earlier, briefly stating how I felt Daschle's nomination and subsequent findings clearly sends the wrong message to the People. I believe there had to have been a multitude of similar voices projected by people across this land, expressing similar concerns and opposition through various mediums - And overall, we find our voices actually heard. I wish Daschle no ill will, I'm not perfect nor should be a person who casts stones, but felt such action much needed, given our present situation / status and how we arrived here, now. The time has truly come where we MUST manage ourselves in a more righteous manner - Not necessarily theologically, but hold ourselves to basic human standards, principles, and accountability.

They all knew it... He not only has to go home but has to be prosecuted like everybody else would. Unless he is with the rest of the crooks above the law...The Untouchables..
