Tennessee's Pat Summitt Wins 1,000th Game

(Newser) – Pat Summitt is now the first top college coach of either gender to have a win total with four figures. Tennessee's Lady Vols beat Georgia to give Summitt her 1,000th victory, the Tennessean reports. Her nearest competitor is Jody Conradt, who retired with 900 wins. Among men in Division I, Bobby Knight has 902 victories. The 56-year-old Summitt now has a record of 1,000-187 in 35 years at the school.
