(AP) – Tiger Woods is back on the fairway and back in competition. Wearing his trademark white "TW" golf cap and swinging easily, the world's No. 1 player teed off today at the Accenture Match Play Championship near Tucson, Ariz. His first drive found the fairway. It's Woods' first tournament competition since he won the US Open in June 2008 on a bad left leg.

He had reconstructive knee surgery a week later, making this the longest break from golf in his career. The second-time new dad was paired with Brendan Jones of Australia in the first round in front of an adoring crowd at Dove Mountain. Woods has won the Match Play Championship three times.
