(Newser) – Rihanna and alleged abuser Chris Brown are recording a duet slated for Brown’s new album, E! reports. The pair has been holed up in a California recording studio with an award-winning producer. Another source confirmed Rihanna is recording again, using music as “her refuge.” Meanwhile, the New York Daily News says Rihanna told police about two previous fights with Brown.

Rumors and previous reports that Brown had “beaten” Rihanna in the past are “absolutely inaccurate,” a source said. One previous fight involved Brown shoving Rihanna after she slapped him; the second involved him breaking a car window. And pals continue to confirm the two “not just seeing each other [platonically],” another source said. “He’s with her, they’re together.”

This was not a simple beating. I'll make a prediction: It'll be much worse next time.
