(Newser) – Lawmakers read Edward Liddy the riot act today over AIG’s recent bonuses, CNNMoney reports, and the company’s CEO was expected to say he, too, found them “distasteful,” but felt he had to disperse them. “We have to continue managing our business as a business, taking account of the cold realities of competition,” he said, according to prepared remarks released ahead of his appearance on Capitol Hill, adding that certain “legal obligations” came into play.

America is in for a long-lasting struggle between greed and democracy. As much of American democracy in the past was going hand in hand with capitalist greed (considered healthy), some new perceptions, but not of the known "socialist" version, are coming into play. Will not be over quickly, and neither will it be easy.

Evidently not that angry. He did not find it so distasteful that he refused to hand out the bonues. Instead of bonues they all should have been shown the door, Ceo included .
