Squirrel Infiltrates Philly PD

Probe under way after costumed human ruffles feathers

(Newser) – Let this be a lesson, kids: Dressing up in a squirrel costume can have unintended consequences. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Internal Affairs division is wrapped up in a truly bizarre squirrel case, the Daily News reports, after an officer who caught sight of a colleague in full rodent gear took offense and complained.

After an inspector was accused (wrongly, it turned out) of having a rodent in her office, a colleague in a giant squirrel costume crashed her birthday party Friday. Evelyn Heath thought it was hilarious, but another officer, with whom she has a tense relationship, didn’t. He thought Heath was somehow mocking him with the squirrel, and ratted on her. Investigators were dispatched to sort through the whole nutty business.

Wow, mad, that's a lot of hate. And for what? You make fun of him for not liking a Halloween costume and act like that? Maybe just as over the top, hmm? Cool out, cowboy.
