(Newser) – A 14-year-old New Jersey girl has been charged with possessing and distributing child porn for posting nude photos of herself on her MySpace web pages, reports WPIX-TV. If convicted, the girl may have to register as a sex offender. The case highlights increasing problems with children posting or texting racy images of themselves. "This is a wake-up call for parents," said an official. "The girl posted the photos because she wanted her boyfriend to see them."

Less a matter of prosecuting her as a "sex offender" than finding a way to show her all the 55-year-old freaks who now have her nude pics.

This emphasizes the misinformation our kids have about sex. It is the best story to come out for a long time because it says that it is against the law to send nude pictures. There are standards. Hopefully she will get probation but her case may prevent other kids from doing the same or worse. It is better than all of the commercials warning kds about using technology in ways unwise.
