Yankees' New Stadium Takes a Bow

(Newser) – Players and fans checked out the new Yankee Stadium for the first time today, and they liked what they saw. "Wow! I'm in love," one fan who said he opposed the new ballpark told the New York Post. "They did a fantastic job." The $1.5 billion facility officially opens tomorrow with an exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs. See a slideshow of the new park at left.

LeRogue was carrying a picture of Alex Rodriguez with a gun pointed at his head and the note, “You have to go bud, you’ve ruined too many of our white queens” when he ran onto the Yankees' field Monday night, the New York Post reports. Man Finds Snake Sitting on Toilet Seat

(NEWSER) - A Bronx man couldn't use his toilet last night because the seat was already occupied—by a monster snake. The frightened man called the cops, saying, "There's a giant snake on my toilet." Animal handlers reported find that the reptile was a nonvenomous corn snake, albeit one of impressive size, the New York Daily News reports. The snake's unwitting host surmised that it had come up through the plumbing, creeping out the neighbors. "We've got enough problems here with bugs and mice," one said. More»
