Madonna Devastated by Denial

Share

(Newser) – Madonna returned to Britain “devastated and shaking” over being denied her bid to adopt another Malawian orphan, sources tell the Daily Mail. Madge reportedly told her lawyer—who called the court’s decision “incomprehensible”—“Do whatever you can to get me my Mercy.” She is appealing the decision, but faces another potential setback in the appearance of a man claiming to be the girl’s biological father.

“I bear no grudge against Madonna. But I am Mercy’s father and I want her to stay with me,” said James Kambewa, who formerly believed Mercy was dead and is willing to take a DNA test to prove his paternity. “I will make it plain that my daughter will be staying in Malawi with me.”

In this photo made available by Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, Madonna holds her adopted son David as they meet with the boy's biological father, Yohane Banda, in Malawi, March 30, 2009.

This idiot! She actually called her "my Mercy", how selfish can a person be? She shops for children like most people shop for shoes. Couldn't she at least find a true orphan that doesn't have family? She adopted David, then it turns out he has a family, now the same with this one. It must suck to be so stuck up you have to travel all the way to Africa and be publicly humiliated when rejected while shopping for a kid, instead of traveling to America or Britain and doing it. When is adopting in your home country going to become fashionable? Reply

I agree completely. The rich and famous should not be allowed to remove children with family ties. If they were people of average means, this would be viewed less like charity and more like kidnapping.
