(Newser) – Ian Tomlinson, who died during last week’s G20 protests in London, was clubbed and pushed to the ground by police minutes before he suffered a fatal heart attack, the Guardian reports. The paper has obtained video, which shows Tomlinson walking away from riot cops with dogs before he was attacked from behind. Tomlinson, who was on his way home from work, was earlier battered by police batons, witnesses say.

Wow Annie. Give us your best shot. Cops are always wrong, rioting mobs are always right? Cops do one of the hardest jobs in the world. Try picking out the "innocent" (everyone claims to be) from a sea of rioters. It's easy to do the next day from your easy chair. Especially if your mind is made up first.

Thank you, Shonangreg, apparently justme did not bother to watch the clip or read the accounts,, being too busy apparently, reading my mind and discovering prejudices I secretly harbor. Apparently speaking out when police execute innocent citizens means I am anti-police, just like speaking out against torture and bombing innocent civilains is anti-American. Of course cops have a hard and dangerous job, but so do power company linemen, firemen, and pro football players. To excuse murder on this basis is just adding insult to the victims' injury. If you care to, justme, go back to the article from a few days ago in Newser regarding the mass killer in Binghamton, NY, where commenters were all over the police, calling them cowards for not storming the building sooner. You will find a great defense of these police in my comments. In the future, do more research and less mind reading before you criticize someone's 'prejudgements.'

After the British whitewah this, and absove the police of all blame, those cops can come work for the Oakland Transit Authority, where they will be issued guns to kill innocent bystanders. None of that messy, inconvenient, pain-in-the-a$$ CPR need be attempted when a good clean gunshot takes out the rowdies.
