(Newser) – Two people died today in a murder-suicide at a Michigan college campus, the Detroit News reports. Police responding to a call about an assault with shots fired entered the fine arts building at Henry Ford Community College, only to hear another shot ring out. A man, identified as the aggressor, and a woman were found dead. Professors received an email instructing them to lock down offices and classrooms during the investigation.

As a Lefty I support the Bill of Rights. All 10, no exceptions. Living in a free society has consequences but limiting our freedoms is not an acceptable solution to those problems. The ultimate responsibility of this crime lies in the hands of the criminal who perpetrated the crime. No one seriously considers outlawing Drinking or Driving to confront the problem of Drunk Driving. Last time I checked every bar I have ever seen had a parking lot. People are snapping as they see their lives go down the toilet. You will see more of these killings and most (But not all) will be with guns. However the reason they make the news and illicit the response they do is precisely because of how rare they really are.

first off...I need to proof read my typing better...lol....all rhetoric aside...THAT is a tough question.....Guns of many sorts are a part of out history and culture. From the black powder survival and defense tool..(musket) to the modern day trick shooters and sportsman. There is a LOT of responsible gun owners out there, I have a few myself, mostly .22cal, shotguns, and a few rifles, and one pistol that stays locked away (I don't really like pistols but they have their use at times)...I have no ideations of being Rambo, or down in da hood busting caps in somebodys "ass" either....I do have the occasional urge to dove and quail hunt though.....But that is the side that is law abiding, and respectfull of others....then you get the unstable, the criminal and yes the drunk stupid redneck types, that screw it up for everybody else. It's a catch 22....Take away all the guns...only the law abiding people will give them up.....the criminal element will not and they will have open season on the unarmed.....AND...you would have a revolt of epic proportions on the side of the gun owners getting the shaft.....bottom line...NOBODY really has a good solution i'm afraid...I wish I did....and the radicals on both ends of that spectrum do nothing to help out
