Slumdog Dad: I'm Not Selling My Kid

Rumors part of a 'dirty' media scheme, he says

Share

(Newser) – The father of Slumdog Millionaire child star Rubina Ali tells the BBC he’s not selling his daughter, contrary to a News of the World report he called a “dirty” scheme. The media “made fun of our poverty,” Rafiq Qureshi said. “They tricked us into this fakery but we came out unscathed.” He said he’d been placed in a spot of “great temptation,” but hadn’t made any such deal.

If only the directors and profit bearers of the movie would just pay them a hell of a lot more as they deserve. I would like to see the DVD version sold with comments from the kids and their parents during movie play included in the special features option. Reply

Anchortower, you've been going on about this for months. The producers of this movie have done more for the kids than anyone has ever done in similar movies. You act like they've been tortured and looted. Get off it. Reply
