(Newser) – Susan Boyle, Britain’s Got Talent contestant and Internet sensation, has been the subject of one hot debate: Makeover or no makeover? The makeover process has already begun, Deadline reports—Boyle appeared recently in a trendy dress and leather jacket. “It wasn’t until I saw myself on TV that I realized how frumpy I was,” says Boyle, who also visited a hairdresser for advice. Elsewhere:

  • Simon Cowell has been contemplating his future on American Idol—and would “absolutely not” stay if the show slipped to No. 2 in the ratings. “Being No. 1 is verging on an obsession with me,” he tells the Hollywood Reporter.
  • Fellow judge Paula Abdul’s contract is up this season, the AP reports, but she'll tell Nightline tomorrow, “I don't think anyone” can replace her.
  • The last original Idol judge, Randy Jackson, got his own share of press today after reports that Condoleezza Rice requested a private sit-down with him last month. The married Jackson “was sort of mystified” at the request, a source tells Us, “but he went.”
  • MTV found someone who can identify with Chris Brown: Mike Tyson. “I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids,” Tyson says. “He's just a little baby that don't know how to handle his emotions.”

I will need to sort out my dress sense and my weight, Susan Boyle said. It's not a big thing, it doesn't worry me too much, but I will be doing a bit more exercise to help me sort it out.

The fact is, you look at this person and you might be crazy in love, but we don't know how to handle those feelings, said Mike Tyson of Chris Brown and Rihanna.

When there is this much attention on you, you have to plan what you wear every day and look your best, Susan Boyle said. I just want to look nice, and smart.
