(Newser) – Australian police, frustrated by the lack of leads in the 2008 murder of a Chinese immigrant, have released photos showing the 34-year-old’s grisly death, Reuters reports. Chen Liu was shot 34 times in the head and neck with a high-powered nail gun before his body was dumped in a Sydney marsh last year.

"We believe the perpetrators had every intention of the body not being discovered," said an investigator. "In 36 years, I've never seen a murder of this nature."

It's like my Mamma always says: it's that 34th nail that gets you every time.
