(Newser) – Taliban enforcers in Pakistan have been filmed in a chilling video shooting down two lovers charged with committing adultery, reports the BBC. The man and woman are seen talking to members of the Taliban, and then move away as they appear to sense the danger they're in. Both are shot several times, then shot again when the gunmen see they are still moving. The cell-phone video, which has stunned Pakistanis, was shot by a reporter in a village controlled by the Taliban.

Why would any civilized society follow the rule of the Taliban. Frontier justice is unacceptable. They need to be prosecuted for what they did. Reply

Good call. I urge you to make a citizen's arrest so that we can get the ball rolling on that prosecution.

In 'civilized' societies such as ours, we have people like gonzales, bybee and yoo to render opinions calling thes tactics 'enhanced interriogation techniques.' I'm sure the taliban's justice department has the same type of 'legal experts.'

I was reading through some old accounts of the Catholic Inquisition last week and there's an eerie similarity of the extreme and often deadly methods used by the Taliban. So I suppose that answers the question of how a civilized society could allow such things to happen. Reply
