Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. will square off at Madison Square Garden next January in what promoter Don King is calling "a fight made in boxing heaven." The two future Hall of Famers had been slated for a highly publicized bout in 2001 before Trinidad was KO'd in the preceding weeks.
Though the currently retired Trinidad will have to add to his middleweight build for the date, Jones will need to shed pounds to match his agile opponent. King, who says he's sure a major network such as HBO will pick up the broadcast, has not released details of the purses. "It's two legendary fighters coming together," the promoter said. "The deal is real."
