Gunman is at large, police say

(Newser) – A college student is dead after being shot at a popular hangout near the Middletown, Conn., campus of Wesleyan University, and the gunman remains at large, the Hartford Courant reports. Witnesses say the shooter entered the cafe at 1pm, walked to a woman behind the counter, and fired multiple shots. Police recovered a gun at the scene. All Middletown schools—including the university—have been locked down.

(NEWSER) - A gunman indiscriminately opened fire at passing motorists in Hollywood today, hitting one person in the head who is now critically wounded, reports the Los Angeles Times .
