(Newser) – Los Angeles police have charged 23-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry with the murder of Roderick Anthony Burton II, better known as up-and-coming rapper Dolla, E! reports. Berry is being held on $1 million bail. Police have questioned two other persons of interest as well, a man and a woman, but neither has been charged.

Dolla was shot after an altercation with a man and a woman yesterday at an LA mall. The man shot the rapper and both fled. Police say Berry matches the man’s description. Dolla was with fellow rapper DJ Shabbazz and Scrapp DeLeon, a fellow artist on the Jive label, at the time of the shooting.

I wouldn't recommend poverty, broken homes, uncontrolled drugs, high unemployment, poor education to anyone- but they've always worked well for me.

It's the environment they were born into - poverty, broken homes, uncontrolled drugs, high unemployment, poor education. You can't expect a large percentage of honor students and socially balanced citizens emerging from that environment.
