Some 2000 lucky Eminem fans got to see a rarity last night: a mini-concert in which the rapper was sober, MTV reports. “This might actually be one of the best shows I’ve ever done, ‘cause when I get offstage, I’m actually going to remember it,” Eminem told the audience at the 35-minute set in his hometown of Detroit.

The festivities marked the release of Relapse, the first record in 4 years from the star who has spoken candidly about his addiction to prescription drugs. Fans waited in line for hours, and completed Twitter-powered scavenger hunts across the city in order to score tickets. The consensus: “It was amazing. It was short, but it was really good.” (More Eminem stories.)
