(Newser) – Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson plans to launch a news website to serve as a right-leaning alternative to the Huffington Post, reports The Hill. The focus of TheDailyCaller.com will be "adding facts to the conversation" and driving the news cycle. "It will not be a forum for discussing the future of the Republican Party," Carlson says.

I actually met Tucker when he was about 10 years old. He didn't make much of an impression then, either. His Dad was a very well-respected journalist who, the last I heard, was working behind the scenes for Voice of America. But the more I hear Tucker speak, the more I become convinced his real dad was the neo-con milkman.

The site isn't even up yet and the dissembling has already begun. 'There just aren't enough people covering this administration and telling the people what's going on.' Right. Every utterance from the right wing noise machine, gingrich, cheney, steele, limpbaugh, et al, is covered ad nauseum as if it came directly from the mouth of god, but apparently our little bow-tied trust fund baby won't be satisfied until a webb version of fox & fiends is added to our daily dose of dumbassery.
