'Nutty Old White Men' Vex GOP With Sotomayor Slams

(Newser) – GOP operatives opposed to Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor aren’t happy about the “help” they’re getting from Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh, CQ Politics reports. Limbaugh called the nominee a “bigot” for saying “a wise Latina woman” will often make better decisions than a white man. “We’re going to attack Sotomayor with charges of reverse racism?” a Republican insider sputtered. “That’s nutty old white man talk.”

Gingrich also weighed in on Sotomayor’s statement. “White man racist nominee would be forced to withdraw,” he Tweeted. “Latina woman racist should also withdraw.” The insider finds the attack hopelessly out of touch: “Attempting to paint her as a bigot or racist would be a terrible political miscalculation that would accomplish nothing but further illustrate why Republicans are in the wilderness right now.”

The fact that she uses empathy, the fact that she is a racist and a bigot is perfect because, in Obama’s world, it’s permitted to be a racist and bigot if you’re a minority because you have been discriminated against.

And why is it that chubby white men, making A LOT OF $$, are the only ones complaining? Could it be that their "pay for play" is to say what the elected republicans won't say because they already are the party of "NO"?
