A home-made bomb found aboard an Iranian airliner was defused after an emergency landing, reports the BBC. Plainclothes security guards discovered the bomb in a bathroom of the plane shortly after take-off from Ahvaz, an oil-rich area along the Iraq border marked by unrest among minorities. The incident signals rising tension as presidential elections approach and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's victory is not assured.
