Bloomy: Obama Doesn't 'Get Paid That Much'

(Newser) – Billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg added to a growing store of off-the-cuff comments yesterday when he defended the Obamas’ theater outing to his Big Apple by saying the president “lives on a budget,” the Times reports. Obama, who makes $400,000 a year, “does not get paid that much,” Bloomberg continued, before clarifying his comments. “The president is worth a lot more than we pay him.”

The Obama comments follow other Bloomy gems like “we love the rich,” calling a reporter “a disgrace” for questioning his unprecedented run for a third term, and telling tots to suck it up and deal with burning hot playground mats. “If it’s hot, don’t sit on it,” Hizzoner told those who complained. “He does not try out phrases,” a former aide said. Chimed in the mayor: “I am 67 years old. I am who I am.”

It's when the president scolds people for doing the same thing that he does. That is the issue with date night, that and why the extra plane for the press? Does he really need the washington press to follow him to NY? I thought that they had some reporters in NY as well. I think that it is good that the president gets out with his wife, it will help him make better decisions because he won't be as stressed from all of the work, but I just think that timing and method were bad, and what kind of date is it when you bring your own paparazzi with you?

But Bush et al never told others, businesses, CEO's etc., how to spend their money 'correctly'... business trips to Vegas, private jets to Washington DC for meetiings with the Senate, etc. This administration has now moved themselves into that glass house. Time to throw some stones.
