Limbaugh May Back Sotomayor After All

(Newser) – Rush Limbaugh is willing to back Sonia Sotomayor if her nomination to the Supreme Court offers even the “opportunity” of overturning Roe v. Wade, Politico reports. Limbaugh noted today on his radio show that Sotomayor “doesn't have a clear record on abortion” and is a Catholic. “I don't know if it will ever happen,” the host said, but he may support her if an anti-abortion decision is possible.

“I can see a possibility of supporting this nomination if I can be convinced that she does have a sensibility toward life in a legal sense,” Limbaugh said. But Rush didn’t backtrack on calling the judge a racist: “I'm not retracting it. Nobody's refuted it,” he said. “When she says she'd do a better job than a white guy, what is it? It's racism, reverse racism, whatever, but it's still racism. She would bring a form of racism, bigotry to the court.”

But this is typical of the Christian fundamentalists that make up the GOP; pledge devotion and loyalty to a POLITICAL entity over SOCIAL issues. They voted for GWB because he said he loves God: not his foreign policy, not his policy on education or health care, not his stance on jobs or the economy. So Rush IS ONLY interested in this nominations if she will take on HIS personal stance on a social issue. Wow. I'm shocked!
