(Newser) – Susan Boyle is chilling at home with her cat Pebbles after a high-profile stint in rehab, News of the World reports. "I want to take on the world,” she said. “From now on there's nae crap.” Boyle returned to Scotland at the urging of Simon Cowell, who called her at London's Priory clinic to say a career still awaited her—if she wanted it. Now's the Britain's Got Talent runner-up plans to start recording demos next week.

Cowell's call "gave her a real boost and I hope that I can thank him soon for all the help he's given her," said Boyle's brother John. Another brother says she plans to share her earnings with her six siblings: "She's making noises that that she will give all the money to her family. That's her all over—she's so generous."

We just hope she doesn't get taken for a ride by unscrupulous people. There will be quite a lot of guys after her now. - Gerry Boyle

It was my understanding she was in a psychiatric facility, not rehab, which would imply a "drug problem". There is a very big difference. The press wants to portray her as another Amy Weinhouse which she clearly is not.
