No Verdict on First Day of 'Rockefeller' Deliberations

Share

(AP) – Jurors in the kidnapping trial of the German man who calls himself Clark Rockefeller ended deliberations for today without a verdict. The Boston jurors got the case shortly after noon, and later asked the judge questions about one of the charges, that of providing a false name to police. Rockefeller's real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter.

Rockefeller is accused of snatching his 7-year-old daughter in Boston last July. Prosecutors say he gave police the alias because he feared being deported if authorities found out his true identity. The defense says he had been using the Rockefeller name for years and was not being dishonest when he gave it to police.
