Knox on Roomie's Murder: 'Yucky, Disgusting'

Says she's trying to 'get on with my life'

Share

(Newser) – Amanda Knox said in continuing testimony yesterday that she imagined her housemate’s murder as “shocking, yucky, disgusting,” the Times of London reports. Asked why she said Meredith Kercher must have died slowly, Knox said: “I heard that she had her throat slit, and from what I saw in CSI, these things are not quick or pleasant so I said, 'Gosh...bleargh...this brutality, this death.'”

Her language appeared to surprise the jurors. Knox said she’d been “shocked” by Kercher’s death. Asked whether she remembered Kercher in her daily life, she said she did. But “in the end I knew her for a month, and first of all I’m trying to get on with my life," she added.

Wouldn't it be helpful if we were privy to the real evidence? I just hate commenting on something that affects someone else' s life or death without knowing more than merely circumstantial generalities. If I was on a modern jury, I'm not sure I could find someone guilty on what is acceptable reasonable doubt today. Reply

So don't comment..You often comment on things that you know nothing about....I suppose if it makes you feel relevant....

Several lawyers have been calling it a train-wreck of bad policing. Apparently there isn't that much evidence and the trial has been on-again, off-again for quite a while. I don't think I would have trouble being on a jury, Terrified Citizen, reasonable doubt is a pretty vague term. Luckily were I live we have maybe one capital trial every few years, its mostly petty stuff out here in the sticks. Reply

There is no crime I could sit on a jury in judgment of that I would pass the sentence of death - none Reply
