(Newser) – Sacha Baron Cohen, in character as gay fashionista Bruno, took on the role of advice columnist—and, more importantly, nude model—for July’s GQ. Among his tips:

  • Times are tough, but “it is still possible to look good on a clothing budget of about $20,000 a veek.”
  • “Manscaping ist important, but not as crucial as getting regular anal bleaching.”

  • Some guys look great in heels—ze singer Pink, for example.”
  • I find Obama an inspiration—it gives me great hope zat, after years of struggle, someone can at last get to ze White House, despite being incredibly hot.”
  • “Zere is one thing wrong mit ze way Sarkozy looks—it’s zat accessory beard called Bruni who follows him around everyvhere he goes. She’s about three feet taller zan him! It looks like he’s dating a post-op trannie!”

Looks like he's bringing bitchy back. once again riding on the coat tails of misrepresented minorities. I guess he's funny at surface level, but i think that his actions could have more serious, subtle effects than making people laugh. Reply

i thought borat was simultaneously funny on the surface and a pretty interesting way of looking at the average U.S. citizen. i could understand someone not liking Cohen's particular brand of humor, but if you think he's just trying to buy laughs by acting like a flamboyant gay guy, you're probably not getting the whole picture. i have high hopes for bruno Reply
