Dumped by Girlfriend, Artist Sells Everything

Share

(Newser) – Jasper Joffe isn’t taking his breakup well. When his girlfriend of 5 years walked out on him, the painter, who’s sold work to such heavyweights as Charles Saatchi, decided to sell not just paintings, but all his worldly possessions, the Independent reports. Every single paint brush, keepsake, doodle, appliance, and stitch of clothing will be on display and on sale at a show entitled “The Sale of a Lifetime.”

The sale is expected to pull in more than $150,000, and, Joffe’s hoping, bring his girlfriend back. “Maybe if the show goes well, I hope we can get back together,” he says, amplifying with this aphorism: “If you change, then perhaps things can change for you.” He says the show “feels liberating and nerve-wracking at the same time. When I wake up in the mornings, I think ‘Oh my god.

I feel for ya dude. Just don't expect her to come back. Selling everything should make it easier to forget her though. But seriously, take the money and get some new clothes and a haircut. Reply
