(Newser) – Bernie Madoff will do his time, his lawyer said today. The 71-year-old con man sentenced to 150 years in prison on a slew of fraud charges related to his massive Ponzi scheme won’t file an appeal, Bloomberg reports. “In terms of the appeal, done, over,” Madoff’s attorney Ira Sorkin said today.

Given the lifestyle he was accustomed to, this is a fate worse than death. Therefore, he may off himself.

Don't matter much since in his case anything past five years in prison will be a wash - that's how much I give him before he drops dead of old age. I just wish he was thirty years younger, so that he could suffer longer in prison - death is too easy a cop out.

Franklin Roosevelt was the president when Social Security began. It has been 70 years. How far would a politician get, Democrat or Republican, if he voted to stop it? You can rant and rave, but you may as well try and catch the wind.
