7 Women ID'd in New Mexico Mass Grave

Police in Albuquerque hunting serial killer after 11 bodies found

Share

(Newser) – Police in New Mexico have named seven of the 11 murdered women found in a mass grave outside Albuquerque several months ago, CNN reports. Police say the victims were linked through drugs and prostitution, but they have yet to identify a suspect. The women, one of whom was pregnant, were killed some time between 2001 and 2004, according to investigators.

The bodies of 11 women and an unborn child were uncovered by police in February after a bone was found sticking out of the ground.

Nobody wants to touch this one, huh? According to what I can gather from our nation's policy on dealing with the violence that has been a result of Mexico's drug cartels and their rise to power, this discovery won't change anything. Unless one of the women turns out to be a white, middle-to-upper class female with a 2.8 member family and unblemished record, these mujeres will go unmourned and their killers free until one of their deals go wrong. The press doesn't have much interest in the missing or the murdered unless they are attractive white people. Put the missing Mady or the murdered Jon-Benet up against hundreds of black Social Services wards who have gone missing and some were later found dead. Think about the young white girl (can't recall her name) who went missing in Jamaica against the unmentioned black and or hispanic girls who go missing every day in my town and probably yours. Missing people of color don't sell papers.

They are just dirty unwanted Mexicans. Nobody cares. And before anyone gets all butt-hurt about race, I'm a dirty unwanted Mexican.
