Beckham Shrugs Off Boos During LA Galaxy Return

Share

(Newser) – David Beckham's return to Major League Soccer was booed by sections of the crowd in Giants Stadium as the Galaxy demolished the New York Red Bulls last night, the Los Angeles Times reports. Beckham, under fire for criticizing the US game during his time on loan to AC Milan, failed to score, but played a solid role in midfield and appeared to take the boos in stride.

"It's sometimes nice to get the boos," he said after the game. "It gives you some inspiration. When we play like we did and win like we did, the boos start to go away after a while."

I'm more than happy to be back here playing, especially when we play like this tonight. I enjoyed it a lot.

Beckham has played on the worlds stage for many many years playing on and against the best players in the world. I think whatever he said about american soccer at present is fair. And who could know better? Pele maybe. Reply

Beckham just take Posh and leave, we don't need you. Please check out of Hotel California, go back where you belong. We need young blood and not a name. Please, please leave..... Reply
