(Newser) – Jack Bauer doesn't even have to torture you to keep you glued to your couch, reports the Daily Telegraph, scoring nearly a fifth of the votes for most addictive show in a survey of some 3000 couch potatoes. “Although crime doesn't pay, as our list reveals, it most certainly pulls in the viewers,” says a LOVEFiLM exec. The list:

  1. 24, 19%
  2. Lost, 17%
  3. Friends, 10%
  4. Heroes, 9%

  1. The Wire, 7%
  2. Dr. Who, 6%
  3. CSI, 5%
  4. Prison Break, 4%
  5. The Sopranos, 3%
  6. Sex and the City, 2%

I'm also a True Blood addict. They must spend more on food and flowers than most shows do on writers. Visually as well as everything else, it is quite a piece of work.

I love House but lately it's been the same formula- an impossible case, House being devious or a total jerk, patient gets worse, House continues being a jerk then has a conversation with someone, during which the cure comes to him. They should've kept the detective on the show a little longer- he was funny and something new.
