Ladies, It's Time to Enjoy Porn
Female audience for adult films is growing

For years, women have “been told that we won’t—or shouldn’t—be turned on by porn,” but that can, and should, change, writes Violet Blue for Oprah.com. If you just can’t get into the “hokeyness—the ridiculous costumes, the awful cinematography, the ludicrous story lines, the terrible acting,” fear not: As more women enjoy adult entertainment, “we’ve demanded better porn—and lo, it is being made.”
“Science is finally buying into the idea that women are at least as stimulated by porn as men,” but it’s time for our emotions to catch up with our bodies. “Not every woman feels empowered to enjoy the show,” Blue writes. Why not loosen up and give it a shot? After all, “if Shaving Ryan’s Privates winds up giving you more giggles than orgasms, then the only casualty is … Ryan’s privates.”
