Beck: Obama Is a 'Racist'

(Newser) – Glenn Beck today called President Obama “a racist,” Politico reports. The Fox News commentator accused the president of having a “deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture” during a discussion of the Skip Gates scandal on a Fox show. When his interlocutor pointed out that Obama is surrounded by whites in his administration, Beck backpedaled a bit—and then surged forward.

“I'm not saying he doesn't like white people,” Beck continued. “I'm saying he has a problem. He has a—this guy is, I believe, a racist.”

Linda, I don't understand. A fact is defined as something that is true or false. Beck was stating an opinion (quite an outlandish one that I staunchly disagree with), which cannot be shown to be true or false. As for Rule #5, that's EXACTLY what Beck is doing here. He doesn't agree with Obama, so he calls him a racist, hoping to discredit him and suddenly the country will want to shift to more Republican policies. Fat chance. My biggest gripe about the Republican party (which I used to support) is that they keep moving to the right, farther from the views of the majority of Americans. Obama has moved to the center during his campaign and presidency, much to the dismay of the far left, but much to my approval.

A big round of applause to Beck! I've noticed is name being repeated very often as "going over the edge." This is wonderful. Anyone who knows Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals knows that this is Rule #5: Ridicule the speaker in order to neutralize the message. Hence we learn about Beck's "theatrics" rather than what he is saying. That is because what he is saying makes sense, is true and cannot be countered by facts so his appearance, tone of voice, actions, etc. must be attacked in order to neutralize the truth of his message. Well done, Glen. It won't make you happy to hear all of the crazies attack you but at least you should know that there are millions of us who agree with you and support you. Look at the numbers of viewers for your show, for Fox, and compare them to the other networks. The "newsmen" on the main stream networks are a joke. I see Katie looking adoringly into Obama's eyes and I see Monica Lewinsky gazing into Bill's eyes at a press conference. How little did we know then. I am not stating that those women who look at Obama like he was Mr. Studly are actively having an affair with him. I'm sure that they are just "lusting" after him in their heart. But, then, the men who interview Obama have the same glazed look. Williams was ridiculous. So was Lauer. And the View. Oprah? I am sure that they can rise above their adoration and report the facts without bias. Oh, yeah!
