Bronx man, 45, was teaching boy to drive Porsche SUV

(Newser) – A 13-year-old Bronx boy accidentally killed his father last night while trying to park the family’s Porsche SUV, the New York Post reports. The family had just eaten at a restaurant, and waiters heard the boy ask if he could move the car. John Cedeno, 45, stood beside the open passenger-side door, and was pinned against a tree when his son put the vehicle in reverse.

“He was bleeding a lot from his mouth,” one witness said of Cedeno, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The son stood staring, screaming, “I hurt him! I hurt him!” Sources say it is unlikely he will be charged with any wrongdoing.

Woman Tumbles Over Niagara Falls

She's missing, presumed dead

(NEWSER) - A woman fell into the Niagara River and was swept over the falls last night after climbing onto a railing while taking pictures with a friend. Emergency crews are still searching for her today, but she is presumed dead, the Toronto Star reports. The woman, who was in her 20s, climbed onto a railing on the Canadian side of the falls at around 8:30pm, perching atop a block pillar. Tour Bus Death Toll Hits 15

Several are still hospitalized in critical condition

(NEWSER) - Saturday's horrific Bronx tour bus crash claimed its 15th victim today. A 70-year-old man died from his injuries this morning, police say; none of the victims' names have yet been released. Several other passengers, most in critical condition, remain hospitalized with injuries, the AP reports. Meanwhile, the National Transportation Safety Board is examining an engine control module to determine if the bus was speeding. Survivors recount horrific accident

(NEWSER) - Survivors and witnesses of yesterday's horrific Bronx tour bus crash are dismissing the driver's story that he was cut off by a tractor-trailer, reports the AP. Passengers have told investigators that he inexplicably swerved to the right various times just before the accident and that no one felt the bus get hit; other motorists have also said they did not see it get hit. The bus hit a road sign that sliced its roof off at what the New York Post calls "face level." Worth noting: While the Journal News reports "the" tractor-trailer in question has been seized, the New York Times simply reports that "a" tractor and trailer have been seized and police are investigating the driver's claims.
