(Newser) – A chain of golf courses in England has taken a dim view of the Eye Candy caddie service, which offers a “gorgeous new solution for unforgettable golf days,” the Daily Mail reports. Eye Candy caddies, attractive young women with a debatable knowledge of the game, are banned from four Leaderboard courses. “Exploiting outmoded notions of golf as a male bastion is not ‘just a bit of fun,’” a spokesman says.

“Anyone who seriously cares about the development of the game should work to ensure that it is as professional, inclusive, and culturally inoffensive as any other major sport,” the spokesman continues. Eye Candy takes a different view: “We add that extra sparkle and difference to any golf day,” an exec says. In addition, the girls are “uniformed in appropriate golf attire” and must complete a training course, which includes the definition of “Fore!”
