(Newser) – Apple’s online store today briefly flashed new, lower prices for the company’s current slate of iPods, a likely indication that a new model will be unveiled at today’s invite-only event, the Wall Street Journal reports. The site was then down for a period for updating. The 16-gig Touch went from $299 to $249; an 8-gig Nano dropped from $149 to $129; and the 120-gig iPod classic was advertised for $229, down from $249.

The nano will soon come with a 'camera.' It can't take still pictures- only video. And the images are of poor quality. Sloppy work, apple. Maybe the price slashing is their way of trying to stay on top? They will fall off someday- soon I hope.
