As with Sparrow James Midnight Madden, animal names 'getting hotter,' expert says

(Newser) – It may seem like Nicole Richie and Joel Madden went out on a limb when they named their son Sparrow, but one baby name expert isn't surprised. "Of all the animal names, bird names are the hottest," she tells Us Weekly. Birds also have "spiritual symbolism." Sparrow is usually a girl's name, but parents are becoming "more open to giving their sons names that have a feminine feel."
