Case-Mate has introduced the iPhone 3G Recession case, priced at just $1. The sturdy cardboard case, which assembles with locking tabs, will cushion your phone against falls and defend against scratches, but makers don't recommend getting it anywhere near fire or water.

Case makers also offer “Sharpie Script” customization—so you can have a text of your choosing inscribed on the back—and a "Bailout Bundle": 10 cases for $8.

The Recession Case can also be used to microwave frozen pizzas, its makers say, although they can't guarantee taste.

What's wrong with my Sony Ericcson Mp3 phone? I get crystal clear connections, access to the internet, it sends and receives texts and emails, it's voice activated, and it is bluetooth-equipped so I can use it in the car hands-free. I have my mp3 library on it so I can listen to my faves. Oh, and it was free when I got it two years ago. iPhone? I think not! Reply
