'I had the courage and the bravery that a lot of people don’t have': ex-Miss Calif.

(Newser) – Carrie Prejean says she believes she was divinely chosen as a defender of traditional marriage, Politico reports. “God had a plan for me” when he arranged for her to answer Perez Hilton’s question on gay marriage during the 2009 Miss USA pageant, Prejean told the Value Voters Summit in Washington. “I’m so proud of the answer that I gave. God chose me for that moment.”

“I was a woman who stood up for the truth and people don’t want to admit that,” Prejean continued. “I had the courage and the bravery that a lot of people don’t have. I am not defeated, they have not defeated me. They can say whatever they want about me and my faith. I always wanted to leave a legacy of courage and boldness and to show that to young people.”

@Rightthing, Does it matter whether or not most Americans like gay marriage? Discrimination is Prohibited by the Constitution. Would you prefer to make exceptions to the constitution according to the current public mood? And when it changes, then what? Are we not a nation of laws first? It's discrimination, pure and simple. And THAT, is not an example we should set for the generations to come. So what if the majority doesn't like it. Are those same people going to like it when they are discriminated against? How would those people then get redress for their grievances? Surely you would agree that public mood is not a good excuse for discrimination.

That would take the reeducation of people on the whole issue of dating and courtship. What is a community, mother, and how did it get here? How do I know who is right for me? Is No Fault Divorce Moral or is it just another cash flow to the lawyers pockets. Is there a legal conflict of interest with No Fault Divorce and lawyers? Many people say they were chosen or guided by God to do certain things - whether it's giving to charities or performing good acts for people who truly need it, or performing horrible atrocities. This is an unfortunate dichotomy of what people interpret to be God's plan.
