Ex French Prez Pens Steamy Princess Novel

Just how close were Diana and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing?

(Newser) – Did they or didn't they? That's what the French wonder now that Valéry Giscard d'Estaing has penned a steamy novel about a French president's affair with an "unhappy" English princess who could be Diana's doppelgänger, reports the Guardian. The pair consummate their love in The Princess and the President after D-Day celebrations. The former president, 83, left office the year Diana married Prince Charles, but they met at charity events.

NOVEL. I think that means fiction. If there were truth to fiction, I'd know where Amelia Earheat is and I'd be an alien hanging around Area 51. Don't laugh, I put my son through college on Foo Fighters and cow mutilations. And crop circles. Like Beck, I'm just earning a living. I'm not married to any of it. Unlike Beck, no one thinks I'm telling the truth. That's why I think that he wants to go back to being a stand-up comic. He can say what he wants and half the country doesn't point a pitch fork at him. I may not watch him, but I did read his book which is at 1 on the non-fiction NYT bestsellers list. Course you only have to sell a few thousand in one week for that. Isn't that depressing? I used to thing that a best seller was like millions. Not very many people buy hardback books. But I did, cause you can't bitch if you don't pay. And he would much rather that I buy his book and dislike him than love him for free. Reply
