John Phillips' former wife says allegations aren't true

(Newser) – More unfortunate details from the Mackenzie Phillips saga: She tells Oprah on today's show that she ended her decade-long incestuous relationship with her father only after having an abortion. He paid for the procedure, but she wasn't sure who fathered the child, notes USA Today. After that, “I never let him touch me again." Phillips said she can't be the only person in this situation. "Someone needs to put a face on consensual incest."

Meanwhile, John Phillips' wife of that time, Genevieve Waite, issued a statement declaring that he was “incapable, no matter how drunk or drugged he was, of having such a relationship with his own child." Mackenzie acknowledged that members of her family "definitely have a problem with this."

McKenzie stands on an island alone.....family members hate the truth of something as vile as incest, any horrible abuse; denial and lies seems to easier to live with and protect the abuser and themselves in lieu of the victims. I applaud her courage no matter how difficult it is to take it. And she has grown more to undestand IT WAS NEVER CONSENTUAL INCEST..........AGAIN THE THINKING OF A VICTIM OF ABUSE TAKES A LONG LONG TIMT TO SEE CLEARLY!!!

The way I understand it she was already a adult when he first had sex with her. Then it carried on for another decade? I'm sorry, but from the history of her I think that she is just as screwed up as he was. I see more in getting face time on TV than truth.
