(Newser) – Benjamin Netanyahu didn’t hold back today when he took the stage at the United Nations. The Israeli PM went on a tirade, berating the UN for allowing Holocaust denier Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak. “Have you no shame? Have you no decency?” he demanded, after recounting the horrors of the genocide. “What a disgrace. What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations.” He also complained that the UN had been silent about Hamas' attacks on Israel, Fox News reports.

This man is entirely correct. The UN is a club of dictatorships who want to commit genocide on the people of Israel. The only thing that stands in the way is the support of America. Of course, Obama does not like Israel, so they cannot even count on our country any longer... until 2013 anyway when Obama is no longer president.

I'm sorry, but how can the UN be held responsible for the content of that speech? It's not like they just let some random guy take the podium. Like it or not, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is the Iranian Head of State. If his ideas are unpopular (and his facts incorrect) that is no reason to deny him his time at the podium. He has a right to speak, and everyone else has the right to listen, or not to listen. Reply

That is not what Netanyahu said. He said "have you no shame?" to those delegates who stayed and listened to Ahmadi (I think there were about 10 countries who did that, Sweden amongst them... the rest of the seats were empty), not to the UN for allowing him to speak.

It is time for the Israelis to look forward not backward. Do we hear the Poles, the Slavs, the Serbs, the gays, the Gypsies, The Soviets, The Dutch, the French, the Hungarians continually screaming about the holocaust? No and they also lost millions of people to the Nazis and their allies. They were by no means all Jewish victims. Iran is a problem. So is Israel. Israel lies to the worlld about its nuclear weapons arsenal. The world needs to shut down both Iran and Israel before the single-minded Netenyahu lights up a few nukes over Iran. The impossible-to-predict consequences will be disasterous for the whole world not just the unfortunate Iranians who live near Ground Zero. Iran will start blasting missiles at US warships in the Persian Gulf and our ground troops in Iraq as soon as the mushroom clouds flash across CNN . What will we do when one of our bulls-eye aircraft carriers is blown to bits? Duck and Cover people. All hell will break loose. And no one will win this time. Reply

This will be the next inevitable international crisis that is sure to happen. Not so much if, but when. The idea that Israel would sit by and allow Iran (who has admitted wanting to wipe Israel from the face of the earth) to develop enough enriched plutonium for a warhead is naive at best. The next few months will define the future of the nuclear arms race like nothing before. It will make the UN resolution on nuclear weapons look like a game of checkers. Nothing on this earth stays the same: things either get better or worse. I am afraid, as far as stability in the middle east is concerned, things will get much worse before they get better. I sure hope not. To be fair, Russia and China (who are the only ones preventing the UN from taking real action against Iran) are probably opposed to the idea of them getting the bomb. America's supported bad people in the UN too (and we still do), but there's at least a chance that Russia and China will change their minds if Iran successfully tests a nuclear weapon

i dunno, it seems like Ahmadinejad is just another douche. Obviously he is denying the Holocaust to somehow justify wanting to destroy Israel. When it comes to being a threat, Iran is a much higher one than Israel, one of our allies. I dont see why people are making a bigger deal over Israel, when Iran is the biggest threat at the moment. I think we should one day round up all holocaust denier and put them in a concentration camp... for a week or so... No gas chambers, ovens or anything of that sort... The holocaust denial I have a problem with is the one that ignores half the victims to make it a purely Jewish issue when it was a human issue. Just because one group suffered more does not diminish the value of the the other lives. How often to we here or talk about the non Jewish holocaust victims? Did the gays of Europe form a new count to escape the discrimination they are still battling today? Of course not, a genocide does not always result in the affected group forming a new nation, thus it is not a simple justification for doing so. The holocaust has been exploited by Israel to justify the ethnic cleansing and hostile practices toward the indigenous people in the area. Holocaust denial by Adaminajad is intentional and inflammatory and should be condemned but by no means should anyone on this earth be banned from speaking short of directly inciting or advocating violence against other human beings. I would like to see our governments refrain from advocating violence against other people and nations in general. Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons they need to shut up and be happy with their deterrent. If we had to put up with the USSR then they can handle one nuclear advisory with technology 30 years behind the curve. By then they will probally be a majority Arab nation as it should be minus the boat loads of European refugees claiming other peoples lands as their own. Altenative they can give up their nuclear weapons in exchange for forced disarmerment of Iran or shut up and clean up the apartheid state they created. Reply

Oh boy, you do seem to be obsessed about "the Jews." It's very convenient to link the holocaust and the creation of Israel, but in no way should the holocaust be a justification for creating Israel. The idea of national independence goes back to, at least, the time of the Enlightenment. And surely any group of people who feels a fraternal bond among its members has the right to be a free and independent nation. Israel is no different. The holocaust had very little to do with the ensuing conflict in the Middle East, and the "ethnic cleansing" you describe is far from being so clear cut. On the other hand, a similar ethnic cleansing of Jews from Arab countries (hundreds of thousands of them) should also be mentioned, if you're interested in history, rather than presenting misinformation.
