Chris Rock Ridicules Polanski

Share

(Newser) – Some of Hollywood's biggest names are lining up behind Roman Polanski, but Chris Rock is not among them. On last night's Jay Leno Show, Rock ridiculed the notion of defending the fugitive filmmaker because of his art. "He made good movies 30 years ago. Even Johnnie Cochran don't have the nerve to go, 'Well, did you see OJ play against New England?'" He added, "Thirteen is thirteen." New York points out that Kirstie Alley, on Twitter, was the first celeb to blast Polanski publicly.

He seems to be one straight thinking celebrity. Maybe he could run classes for the others. Oh, and kudos to Alley for her support. Reply

Seriously, thank GOD for Chris Rock for saying this! That there are 'hollywood types' willing to defend a paedophile beggars belief! HE RAPED A 13 YEAR OLD CHILD! Whoopi Goldberg said it wasn't 'rape rape'?? What the hell is that? So, being raped isn't as bad an act as 'Rape Rape'? Is 'Rape Rape' if they're of a consensual age/a stranger in the street? Or was it because she was at a party filled with freaky deaky showbiz types it, in some way makes it not 'Rape Rape' because freaky deaky showbiz types don't do those kind of things? Only last month we were all horrified at the case of Jamie Dugard and her dreadful ordeal- the world, rightly, disgusted by the actions of her captor and now this? I'm . . .speechless. Polanski is a paedophile rapist, if he was your neighbour ask yourself this, would you feel comfortable knowing his history and having young daughters in the house? Reply

I never forget watching the oscars about 6 - 10 years ago when polanski was honored for some award. So they cut to the crowd of celebs all slapping their hands together for a child rapist and theres Ed Harris and his wife. They refused to stand, they refused to clap, they just sat there with a look of contempt and disbelief; that is the day Ed Harris became top dog in my book. Reply
