Network execs want to clear all choices after Bachmann incident

(NEWSER) - Bad news for those of you who were highly amused by Questlove's choice of walk-on song for Michele Bachmann: It won't be happening again. The Late Night With Jimmy Fallon drummer tells Rolling Stone he was informed the very next morning that he must now clear every song with three NBC executives. "It was a real bummer," adds Fallon. "We don’t want to censor anyone, but … I don’t know. Maybe Questlove is a Romney guy." More»

'Late Night' host apologizes via Twitter

(NEWSER) - Questlove isn’t the only one who’s sorry about the less-than-flattering walk-on song the Roots played for Michele Bachmann’s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon appearance Monday. Fallon himself apologized to Bachmann via Twitter yesterday, tweeting, "I'm honored that @michelebachmann was on our show yesterday and I'm so sorry about the intro mess. ...two years, he says casually

(NEWSER) - What will David Letterman be doing in two years? No one knows, but one thing he apparently won't be doing: hosting the Late Show. He let that little tidbit slip casually while interviewing Howard Stern last night. The clip in the gallery ends, of course, just before the comment, but Splitsider reports that later in the interview Letterman tells Stern he'll only do the Late Show for two more years. Even at 89, nothing can stop her

(NEWSER) - Betty White may have just turned 89, but that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten how to party. Asked by David Letterman last night what she likes to do for fun, she first noted her affinity for playing with animals before adding, “And vodka’s kind of a hobby.” Letterman wasted no time in whipping out a bottle of vodka and two glasses with ice, but when the time came to share a drink, Letterman chugged straight from the bottle.
