Obama to MIT: Win the Green Race

President pushes climate change legislation

Share

(Newser) – President Obama urged MIT to get cracking on green energy research today, saying America’s future depends on it. “The nation that wins this competition will be the nation that leads the global economy,” he said. “I want America to be that nation. It’s that simple.” He used the opportunity to push climate change legislation, the Boston Globe reports, promising that it would make the country more efficient.

The country that wins this will also be the country that supplies green tech to the emerging nations. Such as India, China, and Brazil. Those three countries alone are almost half of this world's population. I would like to see us selling to those markets, instead of buying. Reply

This president has not begun to use the power of the "bully pulpit" to the extent it can be employed. The greatest fear of the nay sayers, doubters, obstructionists, and bigots is that Obama will become the 21st century Teddy Roosevelt. That is what is at the root of their petty complaints about over-exposure and over-reliance on the teleprompter, and why they lie awake nights in horror at the thought of their children being exposed to this president's message in the schools. Agree with you 100% Koku. And if anyone can do it, john, I suspect Pres. Obama can. Here's to hoping.

It's not bigots out in front of MIT protesting Zerobama. It's the same old antiwar crowd who were duped big time by the sloganeering fraud who is continuing Bush's war on terror, rendition, and secrecy.
